Reshaping Your Reality

The Magic of Becoming

In April's Newsletter, I shared some examples of how we might come upon crossroads in our lives when we are forced to crack open and become. One does not have to be on the shamanic path in order for this to occur. I personally know many people who are not being called by the spirits, yet are boldly breaking out of old patterning to then rebirth themselves into new ways of being.

In the quest of becoming, we may have a vision of our dreams to reach for while breaking through blocks, old paradigms and beliefs. Because the routines and dependable scenarios of life might feel comfortable, huge changes can be rather fear-inducing. We might crave more of the same, even if it no longer serves our highest potential.

This process is not designed to be easy, but it is a courageous act of self-love. If we didn't love ourselves, we wouldn't be steadfast in our commitment in moving through the discomfort. I liken this process to contraction and expansion. If we remember that the process of contraction is temporary and that it will bring forth something more, it can feed and give greater presence during our own time of expansion. It is then that we can fully receive what the Universe is holding in store for us.

We may not always know what this new way of being will look like, so it's important to cue into what our dreams might feel like. How would this gift from the Universe feel to receive? Tune into the feelings in your heart, your skin and in your bones, as if it's already occurring. Spend time breathing into the experience of having received this blessing. While inhaling, imagine yourself pulling this feeling of this external occurrence into your present-day arena like a magnet. Smile to yourself, with the belief that this dream is already happening. Exhale anything that comes up around not having it come.

If we observe the natural process around us, we might notice the inhaling of nature: the processes of breaking open, the processes of growth spurts, flourishing, and dancing on the breeze. We might also notice the exhaling: the death processes and dormancy. We might also notice nature rebirthing into something more. It's rather miraculous, isn't it? But what if we stopped just observing nature and realized that we are nature?

There are shamanic practices that have been shown to me by my Helping Spirits that support reshaping my own reality. One of them is called, "The Dream Womb," where everything is in different stages of gestation and growth. In my journeys, I visit as much as I can, especially when I'm actively creating something in my life that feels very meaningful to me. I'm usually given instructions regarding which shamanic techniques would best feed these budding dreams.

If you know how to journey, you can ask your Helping Spirits to take you to your own Dream Womb (which may be in either the Lower World or the Upper World) where you may get specific instructions on how to support your own quest in reshaping your reality.

In the process of becoming, we can sometimes get in our own way. But we can step into a place that is outside of this reality that is beyond the limitation of our programming. We can step into the state of who we truly are in our hearts and spirits, which is far more expansive than anything our minds might conjure.
